Michael Holbrook Penniman, know to us as Mika, began his rise to fame in the year 2007. Mika is considered a unique artist, who has gained much more fame in Europe than he has in the United States, incorporates his personal experiences and cultural stereotypes into his musical work. This incorporation has provided his music with insight and a great deal of perspective, making it awe inspiring to listen to.

Instead of just creating music, he creates art. As can be seen in his songs Billy Brown which addresses cheating, homosexuality and heterosexuality and the song that he created Big Girl (You Are Beautiful) which documents the difficulties that his mother has encountered being a larger woman you can see that Mikas music does more than just liven up the room with a good beat, it is truly art in the fact that it digs beneath the surface.

With the release of his debut album Life In Motion in 2007, Mika was immediately compared to Freddie Mercury, Elton John, and other great music legends, so it is believed that he is destined for greatness. Life in Motion is said to be a tribute to his childhood. With his second studio album on the horizon, fans are really hoping for some great things.

Mikas second album release, entitled “The Boy Who Knew Too Much”, is scheduled to be in stores on the 21st of September. It acts as a continuation to his first album, and documents more of the life experiences he has gained during his teenage years, instead of childhood.

The first single from the album, “We Are Golden”, is currently receiving air time and will be available for purchase on the 6th of September. It is the sound that Mika fans have come to expect and acts almost as a tease while they wait for the big day - The complete album release!
