A better viewing option that offers more title selections to choose from is to try renting the movies online, which can be done at both Blockbuster and iTunes. At these sites, you pay around 4 dollars to rent a movie, which you can watch on your computer for a limited time. It is similar to traditional movie rentals except that you download a file to your computer.
The most reasonable option for people who watch many movies a month is however to join Netflix or Blockbuster. The reason I say this is because for one monthly fee, you can rent an unlimited number of titles, which will in the long run save you a lot of money. The only downside is that you need to wait to have your DVDs sent to you by mail, however, this is usually only a one day wait.
The reason I think Netflix or Blockbuster is the best option is because it is cost effective, the selection is very robust, and I believe it is only a matter of time until these services begin offering download movies as part of their service.
Some movies can already be downloaded with the Netflix service, but don’t expect the most popular titles to be among the downloadable ones. Blockbuster on the other hand has a feature where you can exchange your DVD selections at any of the many stores, which is a great way to get your next selections immediately without having to wait for them to be delivered.
Although watching movies online has become increasingly convenient, for the time being I think Netflix and Blockbuster offers the best deals for movie fans.
