The Prevailing Dilemma Of Digital Book File Sharing
Most people are aware that due to digital piracy, the movie and music worlds are faced with problems. Since the MP3s have been around, it is very easy to get a lot of music just by downloading it free of charge.
By choosing to get the music for free, such as on a platform for sharing files or a torrent website, this definitely puts a hurting on the sales of a lot of artists. The same is true with the movie industry when the movies are recorded first by movie pirates before they upload them to the sharing platforms.
Most recently, it seems like this problem has spread to yet another medium. All of a sudden, e-books are now being shared via this means and it seems that the issue may be growing.
More and more books are being digitalized, and that makes it so easy to download them illegally from a file sharing site or a torrent and not have to pay for them.
Much of this can be attributed to the popularity of the Kindle and tablet PCs which enable the proliferation of the books by digital means.
It is important that people stop and think about the illegal activity they are partaking in as the result could be a major blow towards the publishing industry.
Writers are only able to spend the time researching and writing their works because of the sales they can expect down the line. If the industry takes a hit, we may be left with a world devoid of much high quality writing as a result.
I think that just about everyone would agree that we’d be worse off for that, so the best course of action that one can take is to refrain from doing such things if they’re currently doing them.
The sales of e-books skyrocketed above $37 million in the second quarter of 2009, which ultimately means that the regulators are going to be forced to deal with this issue since the use of e-books will likely keep growing.
